Yes, Helion Research is a real mystery shopping company. It is run by Helion Market Research CVBA in Antwerp, Belgium, has been a member of the MSPA (the mystery shopping industry association) since 2010, and is an MSPA Elite Member in 2026. More than 250,000 mystery shoppers are registered with us.
Because our name is real, scammers sometimes use it. This page explains how we work, so you can tell a genuine Helion message from a fake one.
What Helion Research will never do
- Ask you to pay a fee to register, apply or receive assignments. Joining is free.
- Send you a cheque, money transfer or prepaid card before you have done any work.
- Ask you to transfer money, buy gift cards or send cryptocurrency as part of an “assignment”.
- Ask for your bank login, card PIN or passwords.
How Helion Research really works
- You register for free on our shopper platform at system.helionresearch.com.
- Assignments are listed on the Job Board inside your account. You apply, and a Panel Manager selects shoppers.
- The fee and any purchase reimbursement are shown before you accept an assignment.
- You are paid after the visit, around the 20th of the month after your visit, by bank transfer (IBAN), PayPal or Skrill, depending on your country.
- We email you only from addresses ending in @helionresearch.com.
- Your Panel Manager may also contact you via WhatsApp or, rarely, by SMS. We do not use Telegram, and we never ask for money in any message.
Received a suspicious message?
- Do not send money, cash a cheque or click payment links.
- Check the sender’s address. Anything not ending in @helionresearch.com is not from us.
- Log in to your account at system.helionresearch.com. A real assignment is always visible on your Job Board.
- Forward the message to europe@helionresearch.com (Europe) or africa@helionresearch.com (Africa) so we can warn other shoppers.
